This is what your
entry is doing to you.
Every morning. Every evening. The same six square feet of friction between you and your day.

The Radiator Pile
Six pairs of shoes jammed against the baseboard. The heat can't circulate. The dog keeps knocking them over.
The Doorknob System
Every coat in the house lives on one doorknob. Someone's always late because theirs is at the bottom.
The Junk Bowl
Keys, lip balm, a broken pen, three pennies, and a permission slip from October. No one knows where anything is.
The Backpack Avalanche
Dropped on the floor. Every day. Because there's nowhere else to put them.
The Shift
Now imagine
this instead.
Every project below is a real home. Every price is fixed. Every timeline is the one we actually hit.
Three homes.
Three scopes.
All fixed prices.

The Callahan Residence
A single-family home with a 48-square-foot entry. No cabinetry, no hooks, no plan. We installed a custom bench with under-seat cubbies, a 6-hook matte-black rail, and a slatted teak mat system. The floor was sealed. The junk bowl was replaced with a key drop.

The Okonkwo Residence
A family of five. Twelve coats, eight backpacks, and four pairs of cleats rotating through a 90-square-foot mudroom. We designed and installed a full cabinetry suite with concealed boot pull-outs, individual cubbies per family member, and a charging drawer built into the bench.

The Marchetti Residence
A complete architectural intervention. We removed a non-load-bearing wall to expand the mudroom from 60 to 140 square feet, installed hydronic heated stone floors, built a custom locker system with integrated lighting, and added a dog wash station with a hand-held spray and sealed stone basin.

We'd been stepping over backpacks for four years. Threshold came in on a Tuesday and by Friday the entry actually worked. Our realtor said it added $18,000 to our asking price.

I've handed off mudroom specs to three different contractors. Every time the client came back unhappy. Now I refer Threshold exclusively — they're the only ones who treat the entry as a real design problem.

Marcus Hollenbeck
Principal Architect, Chicago
The entryway is the first thing buyers see and the first thing they forget if it's wrong. Threshold staged the Westchester listing in three days. We closed $40K over ask.
